Congressman Denny Rehberg
Working for Responsible
Health Care Reform
“Making sure America’s health care system is affordable, effective and accessible is a top priority of mine.  I understand the unique challenges of all ages and populations, and I’m working to ensure you have access to the quality health care you need.” - Denny Rehberg

As Montanans try to make ends meet during the current economic downturn, too many families are forced to live without access to affordable health care coverage.  As Montana’s Congressman, I have made health care one of my top priorities in Congress.  First and foremost, we must make quality health care accessible and affordable for every American.  To achieve this goal, some in Washington are advocating for a government takeover of health care, which I believe would have serious consequences for patients, physicians and taxpayers.

You and your doctor are the ones who know best what care you need and when you need it.  We cannot let Washington write your prescription for good health and expect tax payers to foot the bill.

America offers the highest quality health care in the world, but changes are necessary to make it more accessible.  Congress plans to tackle health care reform in the coming weeks and months.  A number of competing proposals are currently being discussed, and I will continue to closely scrutinize them as they are introduced.

I’m fighting for a plan that will keep Montanans health by ensuring affordable, accessible and quality health care.

Denny Rehberg’s
Prescription for Health Care Reform

Lawsuit Reform

Frivolous lawsuits are a costly challenge facing doctors and patents because they lead to defensive medicine, increased insurance costs, and clogged up courts-all of which costs taxpayers millions of dollars each year.  Real lawsuit reform will help lower our health care costs.

Small Business Health Plans

I have long advocated for the passage of Small Business Health Plan legislation, which would allow small businesses to band together to form a larger insurance pool and negotiate lower rates.  With 18 million uninsured working Americans employed by companies with fewer than 5 employees, this legislation would be a big help.

Preventative Care

Investing in prevention and wellness programs, in addition to developing new treatments and cures, will improve quality of life and save billions of dollars in health care costs in the long-run.
